My Memories Review & Giveaway

This post is a little long. But trust me, it's worth it!

If you are like me, you take a thousand photos and rarely print them out. Then by the time you are ready to print them out, it costs too much to print all of those photos. Or, if you do have enough money, it takes a whole lot of time to stand at one of those kiosks and choose the photos you want, edit them or do other stuff to them. Don't get me wrong, I love some of the things you can do at those kiosks. They are pretty cool! But really, who has that kind of time, especially if you have kids!

This is where the My Memories Suite comes in! You can do so much with this program - way more than you can do at those kiosks. Plus, you have the added bonus of being able to do it from your home. You can do little by little whenever you have a spare moment (which we all know are few and far between!). And it's actually cheaper in a lot of cases to make a photo book than it is to print out the thousands of photos you have on your camera card!

So naturally, when I was contacted to try My Memories Suite out, I was thrilled! I started using it as soon as I downloaded the program. On the first day I tried it, I waited until I put my little one down for her nap. I ended up being on the computer her whole nap time with this program! But not because I couldn't figure out how to use the program (like with so many other computer stuff I try!). I was on so long because I was having so much fun. And, yes, also because I have that many photos!

I am big on family pictures. And I like them to be just right when I print them or do anything to display them (photo albums, photo books, photo gifts, etc...). With My Memories Suite, I was able to edit and crop the photos so they captured just what I wanted in the photo without a lot of background "mess." I was also able to add text, shapes, and embellishments to give the pictures that extra personalized touch!

The first project I did with this program was of my kid's birthday party from 2012. (Yeah, it's been almost a year, so they are pretty overdue!) I am so happy with the way this album came out! The point of doing this first project was to share it with all of you. But by the time I had almost finished, I realized that I was not going to be able to share this album with you :( I realized that many of the people in this album probably would not appreciate photos of them being posted online! So I just emailed my family the album (yup, it's that easy to share with this program!)

No worries though! This gave me an excuse to put another album together to share with you! They are so much fun to make that I welcomed the opportunity to play around with this digital scrapbooking program some more!
